Hillary Clinton Spoofs The Sopranos, Chooses Really Lame Campaign Theme Song

Hillary Clinton has, at long last, announced her official campaign song - not sure why this has been as big a deal as it has - via an amusing spoof of The Sopranos series finale. See below.

Sadly, the hilarity of the video is quickly negated by the fact that Hillary dubiously decided to go with Celine Dion’s ballad “You and I.”

Seriously, Hillary? Celine Dion? Way to connect with younger voters. This is the song that will blare out every time she strides into the room over the next 17 months. A terrible song by a washed-up fossil of a Canadian singer… and being beaten to death at that.

This idea makes the Iraq war look brilliant. Wait, no it doesn’t. It’s still dumb though. Below is a sampling of some of the other the songs Hillary Rodham Clinton was reportedly considering for her campaign:

  • “Suddenly I See,” KT Tunstall
  • “Rock This Country,” Shania Twain
  • “Beautiful Day,” U2
  • “I’m A Believer,” Smashmouth
  • “The Best,” Tina Turner

Any would have worked. But alas. Below is a list of the songs Bill Clinton (and the After W staff) probably would have preferred she use:

  • “Ain’t No Other Man,” Christina Aguilera
  • “My Destiny,” Katharine McPhee
  • “This is My Now,” Jordin Sparks
  • “Toxic,” Britney Spears
  • “Yeah,” Usher
