Texas Poll May Show Trend Toward Obama
It’s too early - and too close - to conclude anything substantive, but a new poll shows a positive trend for supporters of Barack Obama.
While still in a statistical tie, 50 percent of Texas primary voters say Obama is their choice, while 46 percent back Hillary Clinton.
Last week, Clinton had a similarly small lead, 50-48 percent, among likely Democratic primary voters in the Lone Star State.
Both margins are within the poll’s sampling error, but there’s no denying that Obama has made strides after trailing big.
The Texas and Ohio primaries, both held March 4 along with Rhode Island and Vermont, are considered must-win states for Clinton.
Since their virtual Super Tuesday split, Barack Obama has won the past 11 contests and is slightly ahead in the overall battle for delegates.
Some more in-depth observations from the new Texas polling data, which may give us an indication as to how the key primary will play out:
- While holding big advantages among Latinos (Clinton, two-thirds) and blacks (Obama 80 percent), the rivals get roughly equal support from non-white Democrats overall - and from white Democrats.
- Democratic voters think Clinton would handle the economy and health care better than Obama, while he holds an edge on Iraq.
- Among those who followed last Thursday’s debate in Austin, Tex., Clinton and Obama are neck and neck. Among those who paid no attention, Clinton leads Obama by nearly 20 points.
As usual, the more attention he receives, the better Barack Obama does. With a week to overtake a reeling rival, he might just do it.
On the GOP side, the new poll indicates John McCain is the clear favorite in Texas for the Republican nomination, with 56 percent of voters’ support.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee won the backing of 31 percent of those questioned, and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas was at 9 percent.

The reason if Obama wins I will vote for McCain and help man phone banks for same. Do your own search on him I have watched the debates and he does not give us any information I am not a cult joiner. But I think the site speaks reams on him. If e is not still a Muslim when did that court release him? That is what he needs to show not think we are not smart enough to know better.
2001 Beyond the visits to his Muslim relatives in Africa, Obama has little to say about Islam and Muslims until the events of 9/11. After that date, Obama begins to become more public in his support of Muslims and their cause.
2001 Obama is protective of civil rights for Muslims in the U.S., saying, “In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging,” he laments. “I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
2001 Obama sponsors Illinois Senate Bill 750 creating the “Halal Food Act,” providing for inspections by the Department of Agriculture to ensure that all food labeled Halal is prepared according to Islamic law.
Islamization — here’s how it works and why Halal food plays a role.
2003 Obama calls the Iraq war “a botched and ill-advised U.S. military incursion into a Muslim country.”
2006 In August, Obama took a taxpayer-funded trip to Africa. While he was in Somalia, he was photographed in full Muslim regalia.
The photo appears in the February 4th, 2008 edition of “The Examiner,” under the caption, “Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is dressed in Muslim attire while on a trip to Kenya.” (Click source image to enlarge)
Gateway Pundit has uncovered what is probably the original posting of the photograph at Han-Geeska Afrika Onlline.
[Geeska Afrika caption:] U.S. Senator Barack Obama, right, is dressed as a Somali Elder by Sheikh Mahmed Hassan, left, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya, near the borders with Somalia and Ethiopia. The area is at the epicenter of a severe drought that has hit the Horn of Africa region, after erratic and insufficient rains during the April-June season.
2007 On April 8th, Obama shows his Muslim/Palestinian solidarity and sensitivity, by telling Muscatine, Illinois Democratic party activists that he supports relaxing restrictions on aid to the Palestinian people.
He said they have suffered the most as a result of stalled peace efforts with Israel. “Nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people.”
2008 On January 31st, Obama told a French magazine in an interview that if he wins office, he will hold a summit with Muslim countries to better the United States’ image in the world.
“Once I’m elected, I want to organize a summit in the Muslim world, with all the heads of state, to have an honest discussion about ways to bridge the gap that grows every day between Muslims and the West.” http://www.freedomsenemies.com/_more/obama.htm

My vote in Texas is best put to work in support of Hillary Clinton. Too much rhetoric and propaganda have hurt my opinion of the Obama campaign. Oprah’s marketing machine surely hasn’t swept America’s minds empty. But I find the Teamsters endorsement, Nation of Islam, and the Rezko fundraising scandal the most unappealing.

There never was a more powerful and dangerous political machine than the Clintons. The democrats in Washington DC are tired of their bully tactics. It would be irresponsible to allow that to move into the Presidency….again.
Anyone honestly supporting Hillary Clinton has not done their homework. Look up Juanita Broderick on Google. She is the woman that was forgotten. She appeared on National TV in a less publicised interview. She was not flamboyant, she was not willing to tell her story until ABC brought her forward.
Juanita Broderick was the woman who claimed Bill Clinton raped her while he was Governor. This came when the two were working the system to power players in the Democratic Party. Hillary used strong tactics of intimidation on Juanita. This story was after….Monica, after Paula Jones, after Jennifer Flowers. All of these women were real, and they were all abused not only by Bill Clinton, but also by Hillary. The only reason Bill got a pass on Juanita Broderick, is because the public had all they could tolerate. Bill was leaving office and Mrs. Broderick had no intention of pursueing Bill Clinton legally. Look up why…

We still know so little about Barrack Obama’s foreign policy experience. How can people form opinions without this information?
Can anyone tell me what is Barrack Obama’s experience on foreign policy?
I read that last summer, Zbigniew Brzezinski (ZB) endorsed Obama for president see
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/24/AR2007082402127.html
Lastyear,(ZB) was interviewed in http://www.counterpunch.org/brzezinski.html
ZB was one of main people responsible for convincing the US govt to arm the mujaheddin.
ZB was blind-sided by the rise of the Islamic fundamentalist groups. During the 1960’s and 1970’s he (ZB) was so focused on fighting the evil Russian empire that he completely ignored the existence of radical Islamic fundamentalism. He gave poor advice to President Carter. The ramifications of his (ZB)being so blind-sided helped to nurture the evolution and expansion of Osama Bin Ladin’s (and others) terrorist groups. In 1998, Brzezinski was interviewed by the French newspaper Nouvel Observateur on the topic of Afghanistan. Here is a link to excerpts from that interview-
http://www.counterpunch.org/brzezinski.html
ZB revealed that CIA support for the mujaheddin had started before the 1979 Soviet invasion. Its purpose was to instigate a Soviet invasion, leading the Soviet Union into a Vietnam-War like conflict. Brzezinski viewed the end of the Soviet empire as worth the cost of strengthening militant Islamic groups.
Last summer, ZB endorsed Obama for president.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/24/AR2007082402127.html
What on earth was Obama thinking when he chose ZB as one of his foreign policy advisors??? http://www.nysun.com/article/71123
Why hasn’t any journalist questioned Sen. Obama about his choice of ZB as one of his top foreign policy advisors?

Having read the rubbish about Clinton and his family seem a lot of talk and rubbish, after all he hasd served two terms as presidency and as a matter of fact had put USA proud in the face of the world with his good governance. At that Time I remenbered that USA is fully respect by not only Asian countries and even in Europe. with good surplus budget and even at that time considering reducing USA loam by buying back the treasury notes etc. etc. etc. etc..Look at what America is today , as no one respect USA no more even the Russian. You all think especially CNN and the worst Times magazine is too pro with Obama, not wonder sometimes the magazine and probably eventually outside USA countries will not be buying or paying attention to CNN anymore. No wonder the reporting of CNN is too predical as the results at they were being ban by some countries. As a result of these you had lack the moral and had influence the American in making wrong decision in selecting the wrong candidates and even put USA in more worst position each time probably in the comming generations as what you have done in many a times. What happen if Obama is elected as president and his influence is more inclined towards Muslin or even the African can you as a true Americans immagine what would happen to USA. The whole world be laughing at the American that it needs a Muslin and a Black to run USA as the American have no confident in themselves (White being a majority race).especially being laugh by the Russia and probably the European and even the Asian. The White house will be filled with African Americans or even Africans or even Muslims if he tends to incline to. after all he strongly oppose the war in Iraq because he tends to favour the Muslims and African countries. Bear in mind when Bush started the war he was uncertian whether Osama is in Iraq at that time, even CIA could not establish whether Iraq has weapon of mass destruction, ete.etc. When the war was started and won did not you all enjoy
of winning the war?. The problem lies in the implementation of law of ruling by the people of Iraq and the failure of the implementation by the Bush Administration to rehabitat the Iraq. So I hope you American thinks wisely after all a mistake made will take a long time to correct or never will as this time the mistake made could worsen. My feeling the republican will win the presidency if Obama is chosen as the Democratic candidate. Good Luck to you Americans.

Hillary Rodham Clinton ran a good campaign and won in the states that Democrats need to win in November. It was pretty close but Barack Hussein Obama seems to have edged her out in the small Republican fly-over states that don’t matter to Democrats like Idaho, North Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Utah, and Alaska. Hillary Clinton should return to the Senate, run for New York Governor in 2010, then challenge John McCain in 2012. If John McCain steps down after one term it will be an open seat again and Obama would have had his chance in 2008 and blew it for the party in a McGovern/Mondale/Dukakis fashion.

I don’t know why so many are impressed with Obama. His tactics really do remind me of Carl Rove. For a candidate that is talking change, I don’t see anything new here. Why don’t all of you just admit that Obama is doing well because White Males are sexist and African Americans only see color. Not to mention that because of his color the media has handled him gently. No person in the media wants to be the fool that says the wrong thing and becomes the next Imus. I still hope Hillary wins. If she does not, I think I might sit this one out so when Obama fails everyone I can proudly say I did not vote for him.
