Barack Obama Resigns from Chicago Church
As the Florida/Michigan controversy gets worked out this weekend, another recent controversy has caused Barack Obama to resign from the Chicago church of which he’s been a part of for 20 years.
The resignation comes days after Rev. Michael Pfleger, a visiting Catholic priest, mocked Hillary Clinton for crying during the runup to the New Hampshire primary.
Through no fault of his own, Barack Obama is finding it difficult to unite people as priests affiliated with his (now former) church spout inflammatory rhetoric.
Previously, of course, Jeremiah Wright drew unwanted attention for the campaign when videos of his fiery sermons surfaced.
Obama has said he was not present for the controversial sermons by Wright or Pfleger; he also condemned both, saying he “deeply disappointed” by Pfleger’s “divisive, backward-looking rhetoric.”
The sermon has brought race, once again, to the forefront of the campaign, while also giving Clinton supporters another reason to believe their candidate is being treated unfairly as the primaries come to a close.

As A Hillary supporter I can tell you now - i will be voting for McCain if Hillary doesn not get the nomination —– REGARDLESS OF WHAT PLEAS/CONCESSIONS SHE MAKES to try and unify the party.
A suspicious and worried democrat - who feels that the country will be in alot more trouble with a bigoted closeted muslim in the white house! I DONT BELIEVE ALL THE HYPE ABOUT HIM. The true Obama is being hidden from the public!

As a person who considers my faith not for sale, I think church and state should be divided. I’m happy to see that Obama agrees with me.

First regarding the Fl/Mi fiasco: It happened because people like Howard Dean messed it up royally. He and his 2 colleagues should resign for their gross incompetence. You can’t punish voters in these states, and drag them through all this because you didn’t wan’t the states to move thies dates (not in voters’ hands).
Regarding, I knew all along that this guy has no principles at all. At first he was swearing up and down about his long relationship with this church and how it was instrumental in building his faith and principles (??).. and now he resigns. He is not fooling anyone. This guy will sell his soul to become president.
Like someone said earlier, I will rather vote for McCain, if Hillary is not nominated, or simply stay at home than vote for Obama.
And shame on MSNBC and CNN (Keith Obermann, Chris Mathews & your own Jack Cafferty) for NOT fully vetting Obama like they did Hillary and McCain. All these people did was to sing praises of Obama, and let pass every opportunity to vett him. They just hate Hillary that much … Jeeez! You guys are fully complicit in annointing a 3rd rate politician like Obama.

Obama seems to have handled well all the obstacles thrown at him.
If nit picking and trying to peg him because of what others say and is beyond his control is all they have then it’s really no leg to stand on.
The church is proving that they have issues all of their own and I am a believer but it’s been a sad witness to see what comes from the pulpit. Churches need to stick to preaching about Jesus and the Polical folks need to stick to speaking of the Economy, and what’s relevant.
I APPLAUD OBAMA FOR UNITING OUR COUNTRY BY DENOUNCING ANYONE WHO STANDS AGAINST ONE ANOTHER NO MATTER THEIR ETHNICITY.
I’M PRETTY SURE HILLARY HAS SOME FRIENDS WHO ARE RACIST. I’M SURE HILLARY IS FRIENDS WITH FARRARO STILL. A FRIENDSHIP OF MANY YEARS. YES, SHE RESIGNED BUT WHAT CAME OUT OF HER MOUTH WHAT WAS IN HER HEART AND I’M SURE IT WASN’T HER FIRST SLIP OF THE TONGUE IT JUST HAPPENED TO BE ON TV.
