Dennis Kucinich (full name Dennis John Kucinich) is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Ohio's 10th district since 1997. He was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the U.S. in the 2004 and 2008 elections.
He is currently the chairman of the Domestic Policy Subcommittee of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and he is also a sitting member of the Education and Labor Committee.
From 1977 to 1979, Kucinich served as the 53rd mayor of Cleveland, a term in which he survived a recall election before being defeated for reelection by George Voinovich, now a U.S. Senator from Ohio.
Kucinich has strongly criticized the foreign policy of George W. Bush, and has called for his impeachment more than once. At the same time, his voting record is not always in line with that of the Democratic Party.
Dennis Kucinich is married to Elizabeth Kucinich, his third wife, as of 2005.
