Bio

Willard Mitt Romney, who goes by Mitt Romney, hails from Michigan, lived in Utah, and was governor of Massachusetts from 2003-2007.

He is a successful businessman and politician. Mitt Romney is a former CEO of Bain & Company, a management consulting firm, and the co-founder of Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm.

After a business career and serving as the CEO of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Mitt was elected as the 70th Massachusetts Governor in 2002. Romney, who is also one of the most notable politicians to be a member of the Mormon church, served one term and did not seek re-election in 2006.

He has since been seeking the Republican nomination for president in 2008, and has emerged as one of the leading contenders with John McCain.

While extremely successful in business and widely respected as a fiscal conservative, Mitt Romney has sometimes struggled to connect with voters because of supposed flip-flopping on many social issues.

Soon after his return from missionary work in France, Romney married high school girlfriend Ann Davies in 1969. Mitt and Ann Romney have five sons - Tagg, (b. 1970), Matt (b. 1971), Josh (b. 1975), Ben (b. 1978) and Craig (b. 1981), and 11 grandchildren.
